First-hand experience: how the NEXON BeastShock 6th generation electric fence performs

Németh János shared his experience in a comment under one of our Facebook videos about the NEXON BeastShock 6th generation, 10 J, GPS model, which he purchased through our scrappage program. We reached out to him to learn more about how the device performs in his everyday life.

Between Makfalva and Szolokma, in a forested area full of wild animals, János lives on a one-hectare land with six large dogs. They used to wander off frequently, so he needed a reliable fencing solution. At the same time, preserving his sense of freedom and the open view was important—he didn’t want a tall, closed fence that would block the scenery or make him feel enclosed.

That’s why he chose an electric fence—a solution that keeps the dogs in, keeps wild animals out, doesn’t block the view, and is cost-effective for a large area like his.

Tested, proven – now a full professional system

He started with a smaller enclosed area as a test. The results quickly proved the concept worked well, so he expanded the system. Today, the entire land is enclosed with four strands of wire, totaling around 700–800 meters in length. In some places, he also installed inner sections, for example, to protect chickens and the vegetable garden.

The system not only keeps the dogs inside, but also keeps deer and bears out. This is especially important to protect newly planted saplings and to ensure safe camping for guests.

Fence replacement through the scrappage program

In March 2025, János took advantage of the NEXON scrappage program and replaced one of his old devices. He wanted the best option available, so he chose the NEXON BeastShock 6th generation, 10 J, GPS model. He saved 700 RON, and after more than a month of use, he’s fully satisfied with his choice.

Stable performance, easy-to-use app

The device delivered stable, reliable performance from the very first week. His older units would reach around 4500 volts under ideal conditions. The BeastShock, however, maintained a consistent 8000 volts, even before mowing, when the vegetation was thick.

János wrote:

“Grass had grown tall in many spots, and broken branches were hanging over the wires... yet it never dropped below 8 joules.”

His older units lost power if even a single blade of grass touched the wire—“there was barely any current,” he said. In contrast, the BeastShock retains its strength, and it can even scorch thin vegetation, maintaining strong performance even in overgrown conditions.

Another benefit: performance is trackable through the mobile app. János checks it daily, and his favorite feature is the instant alert if the battery is low or a power loss occurs in the fence.

Flexible power supply, fits the lifestyle

János lives an off-grid, self-sufficient lifestyle: solar panels, spring and well water, and wood heating. The electric fence fits this approach perfectly. NEXON BeastShock can be powered via battery, solar charging, or direct connection to the grid. This makes it adaptable and reliable in any environment.

Summary

The NEXON BeastShock 6th generation, 10 J, GPS electric fence energizer not only performs technically, but also offers real-world, everyday reliability.
