Nexon on Pasul Calonda: Valuable Advice at the Livestock Fair

For the second time, a traditional fair was organized on Pasul Calonda, and our team was busy over the weekend: we headed to Harghita to answer all the farmers’ questions. Located halfway between Farkaslaka and Korond, in a wooded pasture with beech trees, our customers and followers could meet us. They came to us with all kinds of problems and inquiries, and in our demonstration tent, we found solutions for everything. Impulse generators, electric fence tapes, ropes, insulators, posts, solar panels—just a few of the topics we discussed and provided advice on.

In early spring, Pasul Calonda offers a breathtaking view. And since the fair has been held for the second year, it feels even more welcoming and family-like than ever before. The daffodil fields and the canopy trees standing just a stone’s throw from each other already create a picturesque scene along the winding road leading to Harghita. But when the plateau fills with the hustle and bustle of the fair, it stirs something special in people’s hearts.

Perhaps it’s the lively morning calls of vendors—"Cotton candy for sale!", "Get your fresh lángos!", "Cheap mici!", "Hot flekken!"—because even though it’s a livestock fair, all kinds of goods find their place here. Thanks to this, our Nexon team also set up a demonstration tent, where we engaged with small farmers while an animal beauty contest was taking place nearby, kürtőskalács filled the air with its sweet scent, and visitors made business deals. The fair was both family-friendly and a great place for community building, bringing people together and strengthening connections.

On the first day, about 4,000 visitors attended, and on the second day, around 2,500. Compared to Agromash, this event had a different character: there, we experienced what it’s like to educate thousands of people. But this fair felt special and close to our hearts because it allowed us to immerse ourselves in the intimate, local Székely fair atmosphere. And reaching out to our local farmers is a significant challenge in itself. Being in the right place at the right time, ensuring our advice is useful, and creating opportunities for personal conversations—all these are key elements of our mission.

Our tent mostly attracted small-scale farmers and young people just starting out in agriculture and livestock farming. Many of them wanted to begin but lacked enough information, didn’t know how to seize opportunities, or were afraid to take the first step. This hesitation prevents them from embracing new products and solutions. That’s why we believe in being there when people are working hard to build or expand their farms. It’s important to help them make the smartest use of their resources and energy.

“We didn’t go there to sell anything. We displayed our products and made ourselves available to farmers. We brought impulse generators, ropes, insulators, and other accessories and answered all their questions,” shared our colleagues, who found the weekend refreshing. Some visitors even admitted they highly appreciate and follow Nexon Levi’s work, learning a lot from his videos.

Now, they know how to choose between rope and tape, how to use insulators correctly, and that tying knots is not the best way to connect wires. They also understand the three essential elements needed for a properly functioning electric fence system. That was more than enough for us because our goal is exactly this: to educate, to inform, and to collaborate, making farmers’ lives easier.

That’s why we also launched our electric fence recycling program, which is still available until March 31! If you feel that your device is no longer functional before the season starts, contact us, and we will replace it at a discounted price. The brand doesn’t matter, and even if the device is completely broken, that’s not an issue. Read the instructions and reach out to us with confidence!

We do all this because, as Nexon Levi says: “It’s time to spread our wings. Now that we have strengthened our foundation and our reputation precedes us, it’s time to step out onto the frontline, to meet people face to face, and to understand their needs firsthand. We’ve spent enough time sitting in our nest at home. Now we’re ready to move, to reach different types of people and regions, and to identify the challenges they face. From now on, we are opening our doors and exploring the world around us.” Although Nexon Levi couldn’t attend this time, he was still present in spirit, through his mission and knowledge-sharing.
